About Me

Rebecca Putter is an independent college admissions counselor based in Austin, TX, serving students nationwide (grades 8–12) via Zoom. She is the founder and Executive Director of PACE (Putter Academic & College Experts), a Collegewise partner practice with 15+ years of experience guiding students and families through the college application process. 94% of her students are admitted to one of their top 3 college choices, and her UT Austin applicants are accepted at 5 times the national admit rate. Rebecca has been featured in WGN TV and Voyage Austin, and is an active member of NACAC and TACAC.​

I graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from New York University, where I studied politics and went on to earn a Master's degree in Higher Education Administration from The University of Texas at Austin.

 

My approach is student-driven and holistic. Rather than treating college admissions as a checklist, I work to understand each student as a whole person — their passions, interests, learning style, and long-term goals — and help them present the most authentic, compelling version of themselves on their applications. I believe strongly that the right college isn't necessarily the most prestigious one; it's the one where a student will genuinely thrive.

 

Central to my practice is the belief that students should own their own applications journey. I empower students to take the lead while giving parents the tools to be supportive without adding stress to the family dynamic.

 

I was the Valedictorian of my high school class, and earned a near perfect GPA in both my undergraduate and graduate studies. I'll admit it — I'm a self-proclaimed nerd and have been lucky enough to have had positive school experiences. As a college counselor, I strive to share that same joy with students and instill self-confidence along the way.
